How to Make Campaign Comics
SummaryText
World Comics has developed a set of materials to guide social activists to use comics for campaigns. Comics are described as visual stories in which the story progresses from one panel to the other with a beginning and an end. The stories should have engaging characters and enough drama to interest the reader. Comics can be in short 3 - 4 panel strips but also in long serial dramas, it all depends on the message that is being conveyed, the intended audience and resources available for distribution. World Comics has developed a set of resources that aim to be a guide to making campaign comics, as well as how to run workshops.
The resources explain how to develop the comic keeping the intended audience and the aim of the comic in mind. It also explains how to bring together a campaign team that includes people familiar with the issues, and people with some artistic experience. The resource also includes tips for writing a manuscript and making jokes, as well as examples of campaign comics.
